| What does the status "redemption period" mean? What is "pending delete"? |
"Redemption Period" is a 30-day timeframe after a registrar has deleted an expired domain such as .com, .net and .biz domains. "Pending Delete" as it applies to .com and .net domains refers to the 5-day timeframe after Redemption during which time VeriSign holds the domain and it cannot be recovered. "Pending Delete" as it applies to .org domains is the 30-day timeframe after the registrar (PIR) has deleted an expired .org domain. To check a status of a domain go to the registry website: www.verisign-grs.com (VeriSign Global Registry) for .com and .net www.pir.org (Public Interest Registry) for .org domains. www.neulevel.biz for the .biz domains. Enter the domain in the WHOIS box...it will tell you the status of the domain (i.e., Redemption Period). This will list the expiration date as well. The "updated date" is usually when the the 30 redemption or pending delete period began. In General: After a domain expires, most registrars have a grace period of 1 - 45 days, during which time you can reactivate your domain. After the grace period, the domain is deleted from the registrar database and will not appear in your account. It is not available to register just yet. Once deleted, the domain is held for 30 days by the Registry. Once
the domain is dropped it becomes available for anyone to purchase
just like a new name. When a domain is registered and expires through Nameway®, it will
remain available for reactivation at your regular domain rate.Currently,
Nameway®'s grace period is 40-42 days after expiration. However, there
is no guaranteed grace period, and once expired, the domain can be
deleted from the database at any time. |

| How long does it take for my domain to be active? It expired and I renewed it, but it still doesn't work. |
Once a domain expires, it is removed from the Registry's zone files and your site will go down, along with your email. After you reactive the domain, we will restore the previous settings, you do not need to re-enter this information. Your domain may be renewed, but it will not be fully active for 12-48 hours. This is time time required to the Registry to update the domain status. We do not have a way to make this propagation occur more quickly. |

| What is the date the domain went into Redemption Period? |

(VeriSign Global Registry) for .com and .net Enter the domain name in the WHOIS lookup box. It will tell you who the current registrar is, along with the status, such as "Redemption Period". The "updated date" is usually the date the domain went into Redemption or "Pending Delete". |

| I made a mistake and renewed my domain for too many years. Can I get a refund? How do I delete the extra years? |
Once a domain is renewed, the Registry does not provide an option to delete the renewal for refund, nor can you remove a specific number of years if you renewed for more years than you intended. When the domain is in your shopping cart, you can update how many years you want to extend the registration. Change the quantity and select "update cart". You can do this at any time. This displays your "per year" rate. If you disagree with your rate, please contact Nameway®. When the domain is on your purchase page, if the number of years is incorrect, you can still change your mind. This displays the total price for all years. If you disagree with this total or number of years, go back to your shopping cart. Make the appropriate updates before you attempt to purchase again. Please be careful. Once you select PURCHASE on a renewal, you agree
that the purchase is final and there are no refunds. The number of
years are immediately added and we cannot change the expiration date
with the Registry. |
